France Media Group, publishers of the FrenchEntrée magazine & website, have today completed the acquisition of France Today magazine from New York based publisher France Press LLC.
First published in 1985, France Today has a loyal following in the US, providing Francophiles there with a regular diet of insider news and inspiring content about France.
Starting in May, France Today will be re-launched as an upmarket international title showcasing French travel, culture, gastronomy, art, design, shopping & property. The publication frequency will change from 11x p.a. to 6 x p.a. There will be three times as much editorial per issue as before.
According to France Media Group MD Guy Hibbert: “This is a great fit for our growing portfolio. France Today is already a well-respected magazine with thousands of loyal subscribers but we’re going to make further investments in design, editorial and circulation so that it truly reflects the best things France has to offer a global audience of educated and affluent Francophiles”.
The popular website www.francetoday.com and Le Petit Journal weekly e-newsletter also form part of the acquisition.
This will be the third acquisition made by France Media Ltd (formerly Horizon New Media Ltd) in the last four years and makes it the biggest English language publisher focussed exclusively on the French market.
